Once I got up to 135 MPH on the back of my (former) boyfriends motorcycle. In traffic. I was scared!

I've had several fast cars, but so far the fastest I've gotten Mouse going (86 Si hatch) is 105 MPH. Lately it's developed a shake at high speeds, but I think that might be from all the flat spots on the tires from autocross. (It doesn't matter, the snow tires have to go on soon)

The shaking is almost always caused by an insufficiently balanced rotating mass.  Most often, it's the wheel/tire package, but can also be remanufactured CV joints/axles, rotors (especially cross drilled that were not done with an indexing head) and even crankshafts, flywheels, and clutch pressure plates.  At slower speeds, slight imbalances aren't very noticable.
Bent or out of round wheels can also cause vibration.

I have a ZC in now, and have not tested top end, but the last motor was an Si race motor built by chuck noonan of CRE that was balanced with an increase in compression of 2.0 from the stock 7.5:1 to 9.5:1, a lot of head work.  It had enough torque to tear AVS intermediats off the tarmac is 4000 RPM in first after a rolling start, but runs out of snot at 6500. I pulled it out for the ZC because it needed 100 octane race gas, or a lot of 104+ octane boost, so it was a pain to use it on the street (but I did for 20,000 miles). He used to build most of the SCCA national level 3rd gen civic motors for autocross.  With the stock Si cam I put in (after only 500 miles) it would run out of power just past 120mph, but down one longer steeper hill I got it up to 6200 in 5th, which is just over 135mph.  It still was not vibrating, but the wind noise was amazing and I thougt it was going suck the windows out of my civic Si, and it has a frame around them, unlike  the CRX.
Fastest I've driven is 165mph at Pocono in a '93 twin turbo RX7 (I wish it was my car).

I never took the 1st gen on a high speed run before I took it apart and put in up on stands. I had my 2nd gen CRX Si up to an indicated 110 -115mph several times.

Fastest I have gone on public roads while I myself was driving: Indicated 135mph in my Accord.

Fastest I have gone on closed roads/track in a production based (road) car while I myself was driving: 156mph in a BMW (clocked by radar on this one).

Fastest I have gone on a closed road/track in a open wheel or dedicated race car while I was driving: 175ish mph (hard to look at the guages at that speed).

In the CRX around 160 km/h and the fastest i have ever gone in a car was at bonniville salt flats in a 69 Charger R/T with a supercharged Hemi. I hit a top speed of around 220 Km/h (give or take a few km because the digital Speedo craped out at 215 Km/h  :D )

ummmm,  in the CRX........  153kph' recorded with radar gun on the backstriaght of shannonville.  On the street?  umm i hit 160kp/h  going up the burlington skyway today on my way to school.  i usually slow down for the trip down the skyway.  Actually, i've never really toped my car out.  Since my tires arean't really balanced it gets scary.  i think the fastest i've done is 170 on the way to my bosses cottage at 1 in the morning...............going much faster then my head lights were showing.........

On saturday we hit the beep in 4th or 5th in my friends 3rd gen RX7,  I know we were going atleast 240kp/h.  The fastest we had the S2000 was 210kp/h on the backstriaght at blainville..........that was crazy shit because the next corner was a 1st gear trangle hairpin.  Toasted a set of rotars and pads that weekend.

I donno,  drivin so many cars.........

For those of you who don't know, Wes had a turbo ZC powered 87 SI, so 235 is definitely possible.

BTW, Wes, you are a madman...

Former 1st gen madman TurboRex once got a speeding ticket for 151MPH, I'm not sure what this works out to in KPH.  My fastest ticket (hey, it's a verified speed!) was 106 MPH.
