its been awhile, but my project car isnt dead just yet. I have taken some time off from it, frustrated after getting screwed over by aidan, and being distracted by my new ITB racecar, but im done with it until next spring, so now im back to the project car.

anyway, I have finally figured out how to get the quarter skins on there properly, still putting together the body, engine is half built, decided on a ls/vtec 1800, pr3 pistons, itr cams, s1 lsd tranny, for cost reasons, im staying n/a and using the zdyne ecu and harness that i already have, I havent found the cams yet, but im sure some will turn up before long.

since I wont be getting a CF mugen wing (explaination here: scammer thread , I have been working on a hatch with extended mugen style wing, unitized together, and having it reproduced in CF or FG. More on that later.

It does feel good to be working on it again, should be done by the end of the year.

both quarters are blended in, and basically done, i have shaped and instaled one front fender,

pistons are cleaned up and check out ok, all I need for the bottom end is a set of aftermarket rods, bearings, and rings..

dug my extra hatch out of the parts pile, going to pull the glass this weekend, clean it up, and get started on the one piece hatch/wing

any ideas as what material to use for this? I plan to make the wing out of ? material, glue or screw it on the hatch, glaze it with bondo, then have the molds made..

is there a type of sandable foam or other easy to deal with substance for this purpose?

I like the idea of the doublesided tape, to attach it. But at the same time I am running into fabrication issues of my own.

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

Just curious, which B20 your going with? Also, what parts/mods are you leaning towards you HP goal? Sorry I just have to question anyone else also installing a B20.

i know there is such a thing as a sandable foam that is made just for this type of thing but i have no idea where you get it. but yes, it does exist.

i have the passenger side mostly done now, I discovered that I needed a new drivers side door, i just noticed today that the whole front edge was coming apart, spot welds and all. once i get that door on there I can get the side and fender mounted.

i went and bought a door for $40 at a salvage yard today, it looked ok before i bought it, but once i got it home and stripped it down, i found rust under the trim at the top, and bottom, webbing damage, and bondo.
its as useless as the one i pulled off yesterday, and im out $40.

so now I still need a door before i can continue, looks like i will have to get one online, since theres no more crx salvage around here, at all.

Project looks great so far!!

So how have you found the houseman kit to install? Is it just the extra material you're having trouble with? I noticed Mr. D's purchase came with brackets....do you find much is 'missing' for you to do the body right?

I'm asking because I'm looking into getting a kit in the near future, and I'm trying to plan what I'm in for.

Keep up the updates biggrin.gif
