It was only a matter of time before this would happen.

I'm sad and angry at the same time.

Who wants to bet these will be put on Scion's and other 4-lug cars. mad.gif

Oh well, I can stay happy knowing that I have authentic CF's.

i think that's the main deal. if you have the real deal, be proud. if you can't afford the real deal, then that's ok by me. just like the houseman mugen body kits, as long as they look good and fit right, then hey! now you can have like a complete knockoff car and it'll still look killer in my book..

like i've said multiple times, i'll probably be buying a set. esp. cause they come with the covers!! hotness! i can't wait to see the colors, too. hey, someone contact rota so they can use a 3rd gen/1st gen for photos! that'd be awesome!!!!!!!

I went to Rota's website and did not see them. Can you post a link?

I did not know that Rotas are made in the Philippines.

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.

Is that a real sticker? Where can I get one? Maybe I'll sport it with a big "no symbol" over the rota.

I am not a fan of these wheels, but I have to say that our cars are the ONLY ones that can pass these off....maybe an EF.

I hate seeing these things on newer cars...it looks horrible. I dont know why rota would waste their time, sorry.

Dammit! I knew I should have sold mine, now there worth will plummit! My question is, will they be able to reproduce the machined look of the polished silver covers which were plastic on the authentic wheels or will they only offer them in ugly colors as shown above?

yeah, that kind of cracks me up.
knock-off mugen body kits : good
knock-off mugen wheels : bad?

I have a houseman, I might as well polish it off with a set of knock-off wheels as well, doesnt bother me

personally, I think cf48s are about the ugliest wheel ever made, the only draw that I saw for them was rarity, and the WTF wheels are those? factor.
but they are period correct for our cars, though.

I am torn between getting a set of these or m-7s , im not sure which I want yet.

and by the way, Ive seen knockoff mugen rim badges for these, Im hoping they come out with proper center caps too, lol

The difference is the body kits are non-existant, you couldn't get one if you wanted it; so the reproductions are the only option. The wheels are out there and aren't THAT rare; you just have to be willing to pay for them. I've got a little bit of money tied up in mine, if I sell them now I could probably break even. If I wait there value will probably be cut in half.

These rota's don't have a place for the badge. You could still stick one on there, but at least the Mugens have a place for them.

The reason I didn't do the center caps was because I didn't think I could ever sell enough to even make my money back, but now that these are coming out I wonder if enough people will want Mugen center caps to make it worth while...

I wouldn't worry about the value of the real mugens going down. The Mugen M7s, MR-5s, and RNRs have been reproduced and their values still hold pretty high I think. CF-48s aren't really my cup of tea, alright though. But, now you can get a set of Rotas for daily driving to absorb the pot hole and curbs, entice thieves, etc, and leave the real deals ready to mount for car shows. Sometimes knockoffs aren't too bad. I am currently looking for some Tenzo Morphix (MR-5 knock offs) and they are harder to find than MR-5s, LOL.

I was never a fan of the CFs, but for those who do like them - now you can afford to own a set (knock offs or not). The only problem I have is those few idndividuals who will claim that their Rotas are "original CFs".
