There is a guy trying to sell me a ZC transmission and he says that I'll fit my d15a3 engines without doing modifications,
He told me this:
"it will fit any USDM engine including the EW3 or D1513 (which is the same block) I know this because the ZC motor that came in the JDM CRX (from which this tranny was taken) was mated to an Si motor from a USDM 87 Si CRX, the only difference is the number of splines on the clutch input shaft which is 21, not 23 like the integra, so if you have an integra you need a ZC clutch, if you have a CRX you can use your exhisting clutch. working on hondas has been how my make money for the last 12 years."
and:
"the gearing is 3.87 compared to the Si 4.40 and the DX 4.27 - this allows for quicker acceloration but the RPMS will be higher in 5th gear at highway speeds. usually people swap in a DX 5th gear to combat this. if you need the DX 5th swapping in, I can do that for you for an extra $100 charge. the ZC tranny was fine for me at hwy driving, didn't mind the extra power on tap from being at a higher RPM already"
I tough that the ZC transmission was only compatible with d16 engines, am I right?
Is he trying to sell me something I won't be able to use?

actually, everything he said is retardedly wrong.. as far as i know, it only fits into the wagon motor due to the fact it uses an intermediate shaft..
also, the higher the number the quicker/better the acceleration. why? get farther away from 1:1 and the motor spins quicker as compared to acutal speed. hence why first gear is usually 2 something, and 5th is like .8.

A CG tranny won't bolt onto any EW-series engine except for the 4WD Wagovan block. He's full of crap.

From what he said in just those two paragraphs I hope he didn't have kids to feed during that time!
Like you said E-AT, didn't seem to sharp to me either.

I think we might all be wrong about the bolt pattern stuff....I'm startin to think all the bolt patterns are the same.

Since others have tried and failed I would think that it would not fit...

i just started thinking that maybe it never worked because of the clutch differences. It's just wierd to hear from several people all the sudden that it will work.

how could you run axles? my b-series knowledge says i'd absolutely HAVE to run an intermediate shaft. axle would not stay in differential.
