lately ive had the idea of finding an hf body, using a rebuilt b18 and slapping a huge set of carbs on it. what are your'all thoughts? would it work well together?

edit: search gave me nada.

That'd be awesome if you could find an intake manifold that'd work. A carb'd B18B would just be...Freakin' sweet.

Seen this done in a CR-X. GSR breathing through dual weber 40's with nitrous. The guy is selling the setup, but i think im gonna be taking the carbs. He said he ran mid 11's in the quarter mile but i dont know his exact set up.

i think it is a great idea if carb's are your thing. it would deffinitely cut down on the complexity of the swap.

Back to the intake manifold question...Is there a carb'd intake manifold available for the B-series engines? Or is it something that's going to have to be custom fabbed?

i have heard rumor that they do exist. i have never seen one and im not even sure if they were produced by a company or just some dude with some welding skills if they really do exist. i bet someone ( ph34r.gif ) could make one if the dimensions were figured out.

Yes. Pierce manifolds has them. They exist because TWM and Weber DCOE spec ITBs and Weber DCOEs carbs have the same dimensions.

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.

WTB: 14x8 or 9" Panasports or Watanabe RS.

WTB: 3g Civic hatch gauge cowl, brown.

WTB: ZC header--FOUND

I looked into a carbed B-series, at least long enough to figure out that it's too expensive for me laugh.gif. You'd need some sort of timing controller to make up for the missing ECU- the OEM setup won't do well with not having injectors hooked up. Electromotive makes a damn good standdalone timing controller, but there might be a cheaper option out there...

Ford EDIS off on a 1.9L escort will control timing just fine with a MegaJolt ECU.
