Today I drove the car for the first time. Felt strong. I still need to work out some kinks. Like a temp sensor and a fan switch of that sort. Clean up some wiring and do the interior. I can't wait to have everything finished.

Still deciding on what I want to do with the suspension.

As for those plates check out the new pics and tell me if those are yours. I can make them too. Mine just dont look that purdy. lol I would have to cut mine with a plasma cutter or bandsaw.

those DO look like my plates! they are most definitely not tho... since i have only sold ONE set so far! and those went to SC!

oh well. looks like someone beat me to it...

plasma cutter on aluminum? never tried it, but the bandsaw works fine..

I'm really starting to look for something to set the car far from the norm. Ha ha I've been losing sleep thinking about what I can do.

I have a bunch of research to do but I'm kicking the idea of propane around. I should have an alright CR level. But... gotta talk to my peps and see how it looks to them.

MORE PICS! I've been looking into the propane/natural gas thing... still a lot more to research before put into practice, the real issue IMO is getting an inexpensive tank that will do the job and fit correctly. after that, you can find propane pretty easily but natural gas is a lot cheaper... if you can get a compressor or find somewhere that will refill the tank(s)

Yeah it cuts, but it's not pretty. sad.gif They don't give us aluminum anymore. For some reason they bought a bunch and the next day it was gone. ph34r.gif
I work in the field so I'm very limited to resources. I use stainless for most of my stuff.

......

As for propane. I have been doing a little research and the money kinda out weighs the benefits. The price per gallon is approximatly 2.60-3.50. With the price to do the actual conversion (hoses, cap, carb....), the bottle, other misc stuff. Include the fact that you get about the same mpg.

I have a few more things on the todo list for the engine bay. Like change the vac advance hose, put a/c in, paint vc, and tuck the passenger side headlight/turn signal wires, shorten fuel hose, connect vc ground.

Started to redo the a/c today. Getting ready for the dash.

Rinsed it off.

Wife got started on the headliner.

Just picked up the dash and a few other goodies from badpennys house. Took my 1.3, head, and a bunch of other crap to him. That was a bad drive. With my wife, mother in law, me mileage and braking distance sucked.

While I'm still in town anyone have any charity parts?

Wow for a min I thought I was on hondat.

Got back today and decided to put a vacuum on the AC and see if I have a leak. If it holds till tomorrow ill put some freon in. Ill start to clean all the interior and prep for paint. Humidity will be to high to paint anything for a couple days. Any ideas on what I can do with the back seat? Its blue and in bad shape. Any covers that look alright and fit?

Ill post pictures of the progress later.

fantastic! looks great
Every time you or someone else bumps this thread, I check it asap. you might include more in process pictures and maybe some HOW-TO... kakabox-ish style?. I'd recommend putting them on facebook since it is relatively quick and easy... you can also do it from your phone if thats what you're using for taking pictures. Im sure a lot of ppl look but dont post...
