New storage console (roll door style) put in. Excuse the wiring. Still getting things cleaned up. Also, a random shot at an event.

The flares were built by a friend of mine. They are steel with bondo, and I could stand on them. smile.gif

The wheels are punched out 13 inch Mazda Cosmo wheels. 8 inches wide with B50/13 T/A Radial tires. We built the flares around the wheels and tires.

Here's a little known fact if you intend to autocross or drag race the Civic. Put in a 1973-74 Civic 1200 4 speed transmission. It has a 4.93 final drive. No top end, but greatly increased acceleration. And swapping transmissions in the early cars is easy, so you can always install the 5 speed for trips.

Mine was a 1975, which is the only year that had 'wet' struts. This gives you the option of adding thicker viscosity oil to your shocks. I had machine shortened Koni shocks which had no housing and sat in oil inside the strut tube, with lowering springs from a company called CACI. My buddies at Traction Master (who made the original 'traction bars' for the original Shelby Mustangs) custom made poly bushings for all the suspension pieces. I had Addco sway bars, but they were wrong for the car. The Addcos were 7/8" front, and 5/8" rear. The car actually needed more rear bar.

The engine was a 1500 block with a ported and polished Canadian cylinder head, reground cam, a Weber 32/36 DGV on an adapter with the stock intake manifold, and a header with a 2 inch exhaust.

This pic was taken around 1977-78 in the hills above Pepperdine Malibu University.

I didn't realize you were an older gentleman. The car you have sounds cool as hell, man. I bought my car from and have it worked on by a 1st gen Civic-known person, myself. Adam Malley? Don't know if you've heard of him.

i stopped by the white cvcc that was on the lift, a worker told me it belongs to the shop owner, instantly i knew talking to the owner wouldnt accomplish much, he comes walking out of the office and his worker tells me to speak to him about the car, i introduced myself and i asked him what was going on with the car, and instantly he was like "not gettin rid of it, its not for sale.." At least i tried tho

Hahah. Damn.

very sweet ride..... i so want an older honda, there is a CVCC on the top of a lift a few miles from me and its been there for a long time with no tires on it... im soooo tempted to stop by and ask the shop owner whats up with it... if someone left it... a title wont be too hard to get, just time consuming

I don't imagine a title would be needed. Too old of a car. Go ahead and ask the guy. It'd be interesting what he has to say.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but all of the chrome trim was blacked out on my old 1975 Civic. The hood scoops, grill, side window trim, front turn signals, rear lights, hatch trim, were all painted Satin Black. I even painted the little chrome pieces in the rear side windows.

Your Civic looks amazing!

Thanks for your compliment.

Love the flares. I flirted with the idea for them on mine, but decided not to go that route.

Below are pics of the dash clock I sourced and installed. This is a Japan only piece as no other markets had these available even as an option.
