Is there any way to make air come in faster to the carb? I snatched off the plastic pipe it had and i put in a flexible aluminum pipe that i got from a dryer and ran it from the carb to the holes in the front bumper blink.gif . thats all i could think of but do yall have better suggestions

for fun i cut my scrap car's filter box into an open filter. it actually sounds good and there's no restriction, but i'm not sure how that affects the PCV, so i'll probably end up puting the original box back on...

Buy an air filter that is about 1/2" - 3/4" taller than stock. This will open up a gap all the way around the air cleaner cover for better breathing than that little pipe can provide. You will also need to extend the center screw with something. Make sure that the cold weather flapper in the air cover pipe is opening. And I'll let you know if I ever get that dual 3bbl stock carb idea working that I mentioned previously.

It's really not worth the time and effort to try to get a "cold air duct" running to the carb.

Both of the methods the guys before said are good.
I cut the sides off the air filter housing, and that will boost performance (i.e. sound) phenominally.
As far as the PCV valve goes, just open vent it with one of those ricer breather valves.

Or you could do something like this:

Not sure if it did anything, but it can't hurt... smile.gif It's for sale, including the K&N filter, btw...make me an offer...

You know, the carbed pipe is probably the most direct way of getting air into the carb, with the exception of cowl induction, and it is limited by flow. If you have a close look at the carbed pipe that goes into the fender, you will notice it just goes open to the corner light on the passenger side, so if you take that corner light off, boom, you have cold air.

Edit: For a civic, that is.

Cheers,
Mark

Its not the whole headlight, just the corner marker light, two screws and its out.

Cheers,
Mark
