all i hear is crickets. just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for wiring this beast. i take it that it can't be far off of the swap into an 88-91 Si. if i need to, i guess i can figure it out on my own. but i thought i'd ask first anyways. thanks guys.

I have no idea on OBD 0 wiring. sleep.gif Just OBD 2 biggrin.gif

I'm sure you know the options/need of the VSS (so this is more for others that read your post): Add the Integra or HF VSS unit to the Civic cluster or swap the cluster for a VSS driven one and put a tranny mounted VSS sender. I think the only way to get around the VSS need is a custom tune (maybe) or an aftermarket ECU. I know there was a thread with a write up for adding the VSS to the Civic cluster, but I can't find it right now, found about 10 for the CRX cluster though. I think there was one about swapping the 1G Integra cluster in to the hatch too. I happen to have an 87 Integra cluster with VSS, still have the car here if I needed to pull the plugs for the cluster too.

Are you tring to sneak a "big mod" in before the 22nd?

Wich ECU you have to use then, the one that came with the B16 engine, or the normal (tuned?) ecu?

I just wish I still had the Civic's cluster so I could test that with the Integra's VSS gauge.

The VSS situation is pretty eazy once you understand it. That guys article above lines it out pretty good.

Basicly you need your stock 84-87 Cluster, and the speedo unit from a 86-89 Teg, 84-87 HF, or 88-91 Cable Driven Speedo. There is a small "VSS Pulser" that is held on with 2 screws to the back of the speedo housing. You simply transfer it to your 84-87 Speedo, cut a hole in the back of the 84-87 Cluster so it clears, and using 2 screws and wires, ground one(doesnt mater) and run the other to the ECU. Done.

All the Cable Driven Clusters are basicly the same, but Pre-OBD ECU's didnt need a VSS signal so it wasnt added. The HF had it souly for the Upshift indicator.
