Is the d16a1 headgasket the same as the EW motor.........
I know you guys put d16a1 heads on EW blocks....So the gaskets must be the same right....?..?
I Need to get a HONDA part........................ not a ACURA part......
for legality purposes...........

acura parts are honda parts.. and im pretty sure they are not interchangable gaskets seeing as the head is waaaaaaaaaaaay wider on the d16a1

At the top yes, but not at the bottom where it meets the block.
Didn't the whole idea of the Hydra come about because someone noticed that the EW & ZC head gaskets matched up?

not 100% sure where, but i remember kirk(gtpilot) talking about his hydra swap and saying that there are a couple small differences, but you can cut out the 2 or 3 small holes needed. i dont remember what they are for but it obviously works w/small modification.

Yes, you can use it, but there are very small differences in how the cooling jacket passages are near the center two bores. you can use a D16A1 head gasket on an EW block, but it is a waste unless you bore the EW block for 75mm pistons - that is what the D16A1 gasekt is sized for.
I think I took some pictures for the write up I did - you can look through the link HYDRA in my signature...
