i have an 86 crx and yesterday i took the trim off the door and the sideskirts.. and there are two holes in each door.. i've looked at body kits online and they have the same holes.. when i took the trim off there is something covering the holes but its about to fall off.. will this cause any problems? if so how do i keep them covered? a friend suggested welding sheet metal over them is that a good idea?

if its on the bottom of the holes its probly a water drain so the doors dont rust out. Not sure what your talking about, but that would be my best guess, w/o more info.

Just tape or glue the plastic covers back on. They're there to keep the water that leaks down behind the plastic lower door cladding from coming through to the inside of the door.
Or you could just cover them up with a judicius application of duct tape . I think that's what I have on mine now.

Oh, and those holes a stamped in all of the doors.

If you love the Elise, drive a Se7en - Caterham or whatever...
It has even less content than the Elise, is less graceful looking
...and changes direction like a ping pong ball whacked by Thor.

Sean, he's not talking about the drain holes in the bottom of the door. I wouldn't cover those either.
These are holes that are in the steel behind the plastic lower body panels on the doors. They are about 3" X 5" in size.
