Hey, guys, thought you would get a kick out of this...

An old car club member of mine named Andy was an engineer and sometime in the late 80's he built this car. It started out as an '84 or '85 Civic S, the gray like mine, and he installed an Acura V6 behind the front seats, made all the mounting hardware for it, and built the fender flares himself...I think he made the back bumper too since my dad and I can't figure how you'd expand one. It was long enough ago that I don't remember much details, but it was/is wicked cool. The guy sold the car many years ago and it's been just a memory, until this summer when I saw it in a hardware store parking lot in Spokane, WA (where this pic was taken). Glad the car is still together and looking fantastic.

This car has been popping up in posts here every once a year or so, it's a bloody awesome creation.

As for the rear bumper, it would be fairly easy to expand, all you'd really need is a plastic welder and some planning.

the guy is on here.. every now and then i believe. i can't remember his screen name, but if anyone can remember the engine code of the legend V6 that's in it, that's in his SN.

If the car is still alive (and it is) I do not doubt one bit that people do as I did, and post up a pic as soon as it's spotted. I'll have to check out the cardomain, see if I can contact him. Like I said, I knew the guy who built it and remember when it first "came out." He autocrossed it but it actually didn't do so well. It became pretty much a show piece, but oh so cool. I didn't know about the plastic welder, that would be awesome. Andy built pretty much everything by hand himself, so doesn't surprise me that he'd have something like that, tho. Here are a couple of pix from when it debuted, of the front and of the engine compartment, in case anyone wants to see them (I just found them). Like I said, I'll try to track the owner down...thanks for the info!

Just checked out the cardomain....awesome he's got the pics of Andy building it. It says '87, I started with BSCC in '86, so I was close with the date.

Gotta tell Glen that the original nickname for it was "Acuronda", not Legendary Civic!

Just noticed that the front bumper looks more like my 86 Si bumper than my 84 1500S bumper.

Very astute! Andy designed the flares to look like an R5 Turbo!
BTW, anyone who knows of the R5 knows they ain't no LeCar...some parts the same, but WENT LIKE STINK!
