Almost 90 percent of you guys are on Facebook so I don't post my work on here much anymore but I do try to keep the build thread all up to date.

For those who haven't seen what I have been working on for the EW series and D15aX series (same thing) I wanted to shoot a couple photos on here. Along with the intake adapters I also am currently working on a specific cam gear built for these engines, pulleys, headers, and a few other parts.

These adapters utilize billet aluminum, a few special fasteners, and some conflicting hole plates to mount these all up. There is more than adequate 3D port blending for optimal flow and are gasket matched. I recommend that the user port matches the intake adapter to the cylinder head for best flow yet it still works without any porting.

We have done testing to check for clearances and we had only one long intake have any problems with clearing the firewall. That specific intake is the large d16y8 and the only clearance issue was the iacv. The firewall could easily be cleared for fitment for those specific ones. Almost all intake adapters from Skunk ect will bolt right up without an issue. The stock intake manifold is so restrictive it is hard to get any power from such a small intake. This is a quick and dirty bolt on upgrade that will compliment a new cam, header, ect. DELTA CAMS is offering a 272 grind to match.

Make sure to check out all the new and great products from Cheddas Auto on facebook and the website. Below you can find a direct link to the intake adapter.

Currently they are for sale at http://www.cheddasauto.com/apps/webstore/products/show/5370971

Update: We are doing a group buy to get these back on the shelves at Cheddas Auto. We were hoping for 10 sales before I make the batch. Here is the list of people who have purchased. We would like 4 more before we start.

You can get to the group buy page here: http://www.cheddasauto.com/group-buys

Nice work Cheeda!  Can you take a close-up picture straight into one of the inlet ports so we can see the matching between the stock ports and the adapter?

Thanks!

Or lay a newer d-series gasket on there and see the whole line up.

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.

yes that is a broken stud..I.was testing out a dorman stud for strength and seeing if I could pull the adapter off. Adapter won the battle and im scrapping the dorman studs for fuller brand.

I have had some decent Dorman stuff but in general they are not up to the task and I stay away from them.

Looking at the picture, does the D16x manifold sit below the short side of the intake runner Chedda?  It looks like there is a slope to the adapter on the bottom?  It may just be fisheye in the picture...can't tell...

sorry I dont know what you're asking. The adapter is milled to .0005 thickness with no room for taper. The port on the other hand goes from small to big because the d16 intake does have larger runners so its 3d port blended.

The machine we use to cut these parts also get used to build precision testing equipment for ford and tesla. The parts are at the highest quality.

OK - I will try gain - :)

The short side of the intake runner is the bottom (or floor) of the intake port.  If you look at the adapter, does the adapter taper upwards from the D16 side of the adapter to the EW side of the adapter?  It is obvious that the sides will have to taper inwards from the D16 side to the EW side, as the D16 runner is oval shaped, but I am curious what you did with the floor of the adapter.

Sir,  Is there any 'issues' with the throttle body replacement, as in

incompatibility with the ECU or being plug and play?

Or does one pull the wiring from the 1g/3g si connections and splicing into orig harness?

Thanks

Errol
