Ok got a 85 Civic S. It has the EW-1 engine with the carb.
What other Fuel Injected engines can bolt up to the orignal GW standard transmission.
Just wondering if having a 20+ year old carb setup will all of those vacuum lines is not a good thing.
Thanks for the help.
Buzz.

like everyone will tell you, search is a good function
only ew/ev/d15a motors bolt up the the ew trans, swappin a 1g integra trans and knuckles in gives you the option of all d series motors with only having to modify 1 motor mount. wiring and fuel system is a whole other story.

well you have options:
*carb to fuel injection with a factory option engine such as the ew3/4 or the integra DOHC D16a1 engine. those will work with all stock boltons and such yeilding good results.
*you could convert to the SI(ew3or for aka d15a3 or 4) or the EW2 cyl heads and use a set of motorcycle good/carbs or very expensive weber carbs resulting in good power and an easy setup with minimal issues and cost
*swap in the integra(86-89) trans axels, hubs ect. and use a more modern D series with one modified(welding required) engine mount and some other enginuity
*swap in a B series with a Cable trans and go fast, very fast. a set of axels(if you do your own hybridizing, which im told it is easy) would cost 120ish, and some fun wiring
all for around 1500ish depending heavily if you are good at finding good parts for good prices- I believe its possible to do for under 900
*search for the guy who has the info for sticking a K series in our cars and run a stock engine in the 11's-12's
Oh not to mention, there is also the member who has a 383 SBC in his hatch... I think he still uses the stock hood too.![blink.gif](https://www.redpepperracing.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
that also would open up the door for a bit simpler swaps like various 4 or 6 cyl rwd ideas... mine idea is a nissan SR20 but thats a whole diff story.

¿?
I had a yellow `84 Civic 1500S, factory color was Gray/Silver. Didn't know what I had until it was gone, to me it was a 1.3, 1.5 carbed civic or fuel injected. But I'm glad I got the white 86 Si that I replaced it with.
Swap wise, have fun reading the thread and looking around, information overload can occur if look too much though.

The Civic "S" was the daddy to what we call the "SI" back in the day.
Its as only made for two or three years. Starting in 1983 (IIRC).
This was a pure junkyard find. I found this Civic while looking for parts to fix a 2000 Civic.
I had a 85 Civic DX as my first car back in 1990.
Now that I'm comming up on 35 yrs of age, lets just say I've hit the first stage of my mid-life issue.
House, kids (3 of them- got one left), job, and the very lovely wife. Its time for some ME things.
If it wasn't going to be this Civic, It was going to be another rifle build.
Buzz.

Just one thing that I'm interested in and that's the final drive that the 'S' model came with; 4.06:1.
I need it for my race gearbox and they're hard to find. The only other model that I've verified they came in was the CRX HF's sold in the HI Alt markets in the US.
Hijack's over...sorry.
Jay
Oh Buzz, another 'swap' of sorts that's been done and talked about here is the "Hydra". Which consists of a head from the 86-89 Integra onto the EW block. Not too difficult to do but most (all?) are done with FI.
