Hey all, I spent all day yesterday with a mold maker getting a mold made of my rear wing. It will be referred to as the "Medieval-Pro Tailgate Spoiler."

Really, the wing is a copy of the Mugen wing with the emblem removed. As you all know (or should know) the Mugen wing for our cars is made of a flexible foam material and making a mold of it must be done while the wing is installed on a car. Since I have the wing on my car with good smooth paint, it was a good time to take action.

We made a two-piece mold of the wing while it was on my car, and will be reproducing it in fiberglass and carbon fiber soon. We are still working on pricing, but you should plan on:

Fiberglass: $225
Carbon Fiber: $315

These wings will be resin epoxy shells filled with foam to give them body. The faces will mount to the hatch with double sided 3M VHB tape. Some of you have mentioned a preference against this mounting type, but we feel it is the best possible mounting method. Instructions will be provided to demonstrate proper installation with this tape. Tape will be provided with the wing.

The wings are being made such that slight sanding will be required for best possible fit. The wing from which the mold was taken fits well, but due to the change in material from foam to resin epoxy a greater tolerance between the sides of the wing and the body of the car (this will make more sense later).

You are welcome to send payments now, but I am holding production until a good sample is produced. For now, the mold is made, we are about 1/3 of the way from shipping orders.

Marcus

eh, ill still use the oem morrors. these rounded ones wont go too well with the squared off body of the 1g. they look like they would fit in perfectly with 92-95 civics.

You should be glad you dont have a 5150 wing. Its the worst POS i have ever seen.
It sucks to have your money stolen, but youd have paid $400 or more to have it mounted.
Overall quality of the 5150 wing? I give it a 2/10.

If Marcus gets these wings done soon I might toss my 5150 wing in the trash and buy one.
Worst money I have EVER spent on a car mod.

And I dont get the mirrors really... I think the stock ones look fine.

Ok, after long delays I have a halfway decent win part to make a mold out of, and we are going to be finishing this project in the next couple months!!!

AFTER THAT A SUNROOF PLUG!

Is the sunroof plug going to be just a plug-the-hole type deal? Or a functional replacement to the sunroof?

Please excuse my ignorance, but can somebody post a pic of the wing Marcus is making? I have the foam soft one, but I really like the one that extends off the rear of the hatch. Is this the one you are making?

Great work too!

There are no photos of the wing marcus is reproducing so far. I think hes still working with his guy to get them made.

The "5150 wing" was a reproduced wing that was made by a former member Adian 5150, he didnt take into account the soft foam wing contours to the body when you bolt it down so the rigid carbon fiber one cracked when you mounted it, and on top of that, several people payed him for the wing and never recieved the wing or their money back.

The infamous "5150 wing"
I think this is one of 6 or 7 made. Its a replica of the Mugen spoiler, made with Carbon Fiber.
Fitment on this wing is so bad youll spend at least what you paid for the wing to have it mounted, if not more.
