In this months GRM, I see that there are two 1G CRXs entered so far in the $2005 challenge. Disco Stu, which one is yours?

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.

WTB: 14x8 or 9" Panasports or Watanabe RS.

WTB: 3g Civic hatch gauge cowl, brown.

WTB: ZC header--FOUND

Ah nya nya, sorry dude, not this time around.
I have way too much respect for the real deal competitors of that competition, not to mention not enough respect (and working space) for my own works to try again so soon. To really be competitive with some of those guys, especially the likes of Craybil (V8 CRX), I'd have to scour swap meets and have a fair sized workspace to do things, not to mention a good team, 'cause going solo (or even semi-solo when your partnet joins the army) sucks. Besides which, I wanted to have my CRVtec done for last Niagra, and that got put off in favor of the GRM car.

I'm so damn close to starting the car I can almost taste it....
Oh wait, that's my popcorn.

Nuts. Take it from a guy rebuilding an engine and transmission in his studio apartment, not having space is a bitch. My hot tank is my bath tub, and its got an oily ring around it.

Well, good luck to those other two guys representing our cars.

EEEEEHYUGHHHHH That explains the oily sheen on your skin wink.gif

My workspace is the basement and the slightly falling down garage outside. It was fully open to the elements until my bro and I put some plastic over the gaping openings so that we wouldn't get any snowdrifts in there.

Actually, most of my guests say that its not as bad as they thought, or "where's the grease?" If your clean about it, it can be done.

I am finishing an 86 CRX for the GRM $2005. Don't want to let too much get out (I shouldn't be wicked competitive, but hopefully top 20 or so), but it is s/c with a small n2o set up. Working on franken-axles now, but the same engine runs 12.6 at 5800' in a civic coupe. Hope to see the other one down there! Wish me luck

Good luck. Put an RPR sticker on the car and represent.

I don't have one... I can cut one out of some sticker stock I have and rock it out!

Yah, definately good luck! Running 12's will definately help you in the 1/4 mile event, there was one car running 10's last year. Just make sure you DON"T BLOW UP! biggrin.gif A few people did that last year, and this year I think they're going to be penalizing people who go kerpop all over the track.

Word of advice: If you're going to be going for a hotel down in Gainsville, go to the Holiday Inn two exits after the exit for the Best Western they have the dinners and such at. I stayed there, nice place, good prices, and a REAL well stocked Pep Boys within walking distance, and a mall down the street a little ways (On the way to the raceway, too). Also, get a damn map. Whoever designed that city should be shot: the streets are mostly numerical, but NONE of them are in any sort of order (like in Manhattan, Ave's run one way and St's run another. In Gainesville, there are streets, blvd's and ave's for each number, and sometimes they're in completely different parts of the city from one another).

Remind us closer to the event, since I doubt I'm going to get to go down there, if you could say Hi to a few people I met down there I'd much appreciate it.

thanks a ton. I'll keep you guys informed as to my progress. The car was an old ITA club car, so it still has some handling goodies, although many are quite old, so hopefully with the instant boost of the s/c it should do ok in the auto-x. Like I said, I'm sure it won't be wicked competitive, I just want to go down there with some of my junk and see what happens. I am bringing a few extra parts, but if it does more than break an axle or blow a head gasket I'll be screwed... so I'm not going to do 36 runs like Levi (turbo neon) did last year. Levi is bringing his car again this year, but he's faster than me. He might be top 10, and he's driving it out there!
