Hi everyone. For those who have read my previous posts, I do not own a 1g/3g (yet!) but I am very interested in them. I am hoping to be doing some work on swapping another members 85 CRX in the near future, but for now I will post my current project. I hope you don't mind seeing a 2nd gen CRX on this page. If this is against any rules, feel free to delete the thread or move it to an appropriate location.

When I picked it up it was pretty well a stock car. The orignal Si lip, cargo divider and cover, and the Si "phonedial" wheels were missing. I threw my red 15x6.5 Konig Minuz's wheels from my previous EH hatch build on the CRX to bring it home. The red on green looked terrible to me. As the pictures show there was some rust bubbles around the quarters, which is very typical for eastern Canada. This car actually originated in British Columbia before making its way east.

It had a blown head gasket on the SOHC ZC when I bought it, so that was the first project.

Soon thereafter my hood got in a fight with my windshield... Both lost! Then it was backed into by my father, and then again in a parking lot hit and run :(. By this stage it was starting to look less pretty.

After discovering that the ZC was a terrible oil pig (a gallon a week commuting 100 miles daily) I picked up a b18a1 swap with swap mounts and axles for a good price locally. Brought it home in the trunk of the CRX and got to swapping! In hindsight I wish I had have been patient and found a DOHC ZC for it instead.

I found a good deal on a Spec-D 2.5 inch stainless cat-back, the missing interior pieces, and a set of Tein lowering springs.

I managed to save enough money to put the CRX away for the winter, and I picked up an 1985 Prelude for a daily driver for a little while. It was a 1.8L automatic, rust machine and it only lasted one winter before it had to be retired. Best $400 I ever spent though.

With the CRX no longer a daily driver, the restoration process could begin. Up until then, everything that had been replaced had been just to keep it on the road to get myself to work and university. I got some bodywork done in the driveway. Custom made 16g rocker panels, and patch panels from an 88-91 Civic hatch modded to fit.
