Msd Ignition Upgrades?

I just rebuilt the carbs, but am still having what I believe to be two issues: fuel delivery and properly igniting all of the extra fuel provided by the Mukinis.
Thanks to Airgazm's help, I have all of my fuel supply stuff on order, so that should fix the fuel issue.
Now, I just need to properly ignite it. I have done much searching, but haven't found anything yet on the RPR site for our cars.
I bought a set of Nology wires, so I think I'm off to a good start.
I don't really want to dip the money on an SCI box and SS blaster coil unless I have to.
Would just getting an MSD blaster 2 for $45 at Autozone be a powerful upgrade (worth the money), or should I just wait and save the bones for the big-boy, SCI box and SS set-up?
If the Blaster 2 is a good option, which model # are you guys using. I have the 1.5L DX engine, with the coil located just behind the battery.
Thanks in advance!

i would love to see a dyno comparison between a brand new distrib and coil vs an MSD setup both on a hot motor. i bet the difference is as much as you would get from putting a neuspeed sticker on your bumper

If you wish to get a fully adjustable ignition system from MSD, you'll be paying for it. The module I recently purchased and hope to run soon was about $600 from a good friend of mine and retails for $1000, and it won't fix an engines running issues at either extremity of air/fuel mixture.
Invest some time into tuning this thing, it will yeild good results.

My stock coil failed and the only one I could find on a local shelf was an Accel Super Stack. I read elsewhere I could cut my plugs off, match up the colors, and stick them on the super stack (Black/yellow positive blue negative. Is this what you did or did you originally have this style of ignition coil? Anybody?

I intstalled the Super Stack and my car fired up and ran great. I drove it for a half hour and parked it. Had hell getting it to fire up then when I did it would run great and would shut down(due to spark) It started and died on my twice now wont start. Will coil problems be intermittent? and if not what could cause these coils to fail? Thanks

A MSD 6AL box can never hurt. I have ran them in a few Honda builds before. Their spark plug wires suck though, just run NGK blues.
