You will probably spend like 200-300 for just one piston from factory....

$54 a piston w/ wrist pin (standard or .025 over)......rings are extra. Personally, if you are going to do a mild build.....I would keep the bottom end OE Honda. Headwork is a different story ph34r.gif

Well, the plan is a LS block with GSR pistons, GSR flywheel, and oil squirters. The manifold will be aftermarket either Skunk, Edelbrock, or OBX. Whether or not I use the GSR crank and rods is yet to be decided. Since the motor is prolly going into the CRX, I don't need much low end torque, so lotsa high end would be better supported by GSR rod and stroke. There's something about a rebuilt motor where you know it's not going to break at the worst possible moment because who knows what the previous owner did.

Rob, mild build? If you call a 175hp GSR motor in a 87 CRX mild, I guess so. laugh.gif Head work is pricey. But I do know the local master in Aberdeen. Robert Oliver is his name. Do you need a GSR intake manifold? I have one F/S or trade (shown below, low miles). I also have an OBD II dizzy.

I'm getting sick of using this head as a footstool, so I want to get moving on it, but I gotta get my Civic running for winter first. I'll keep ya posted.

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.

WTB: 14x8 or 9" Panasports or Watanabe RS.

WTB: 3g Civic hatch gauge cowl, brown.

WTB: ZC header--FOUND

Hell yeah...to me 200 whp out of a N/A b16 using mainly OEM parts is a mild build biggrin.gif

My car isnt for drag racing though....but it will pull a quck 1/4 time. Havn't taken it yet, but I may.....just to see what she can do ph34r.gif

EDIT

By the way, the GSR mani will only fit a GSR head. The GSR head coolant passage that runs through the mani is different than other Vtec heads. So be careful when you order your aftermarket manifold......which I suggest you use Skunk2 ph34r.gif
