So I know this is way old, but I just realized how this thread ended and thought I'd clear some things up. Since then these issues have been worked out and I thought I'd explain what the deal was in case someone else like me at some point in time attempts this very swap and run into the same problems.
The engine bogging problem was being caused by a kink in the fuel line from the fuel filter to the fuel pressure regulator. Turns out I ran the hose behind the intake manifold some weird kind of way and it caused it to make too sharp of a turn. I think I was also using the fuel pressure regulator which was on the JDM intake manifold which has the port for this fuel line facing the wrong way.
Also if I remember correctly I had two wires routed incorrectly into the ECU which silentdork818 troubleshot for me so BIG thanks to that guy. (He also converted my car to OBDI so I finally got rid of the vacuum advance setup too, thanks man!)
