So I've been working like a dog for over a year now trying to get new shop ready to open. So a couple of months ago an old friend invites me up to Pa. for her husbands 50th birthday(we were in USMC together). I tell her I would love to come up but I'm broke, so low and behold she sends money and gets hotel room. So I fly up from Ga. on friday night and surprise him at the party on Sat! But like any good pepper I check out the area on craigslist and came across this http://york.craigsli...3963800584.html. It was only 30 minutes away. So Sunday morning I go take a look. Long story short its not quite as nice as photos and he only wants to come down a couple of hundred. But I did get to drive one for a little bit. But I'm still looking :(  and I'll find one some day. I did get to have a great three day vacation and see a buddy I haven't seen in 18 years.

Rarecrx,
Both front fenders were cracked along with driver door panel, interior was in good original shape, the sunroof worked but needed cleaning and greasing, there was water in tire storage compartment but did not see rust. There was typical drivers side wheel well rust sprayed over with black, the brakes felt a little mushy for just having been done and there was slight oil leak from some part of engine.
Overall good bones for someone but for $2600 and a 600 mile trip it wasn't for me. If I had been local I might have got it. The car was not tagged so not sure what type of hassle that would have been. I'm still looking, just think I'm going only look closer to home.
I would like to hear what everyone opinion is on price in condition listed. 143,xxx on odometer.

I myself think nothing of the fenders or other plastic parts on the outside. For the must part if you find a 84-87 crx these are the parts you will have to replace than or shortly after in time.  Its is just what it is for the age of the cars now. Buy We do have some great people making must of these plastic parts now. So it comes down to how much do you want to repair to have a great looking crx for the price?  .  As for the price theirasking ,  I would say more in the area of $2.100.00  But over all a good find.  It does look clean.  Water in the spare tire area could be coming from the rear lights. My two cents

Correct. Plastics are a give in. Thanks to Mr. D and Ksousa that is covered. I bought my car with 89K miles and it had cracked fender. Just the nature of the beast. unavoidable. The painted over wheel arch rust is what gets me though. Rust is scary. It's what you can't or don't see that is the danger. Looks to be a nice car for the east coast though.

I totally agree about plastics, but I was too thinking 2100-2200 range but I was local and not looking at 600 mile trip it was good unmolested fine. Smoke screen did not think about tailights I was thinking plugged sunroof lines but that will be another thing I will look at on next one. Thanks for ya'll input.

The worst thing to find is Rust !  Your right about that one.   Its the cancer of cars.  It hurts when you find that car and you have to walk away from it due to rust.
