SOO the big day has come to sand blast...Room is all covered set to go..

 

 

 

 

I went with the Dustless Blasting, which is still dusty but nowhere near as normal blasting. Further more, I choose this method because it does not heat up or warp the sheet metal... Heres a few clips of the work.

Yes, I second that, great work! I love when people figure out how to do things much cheaper if your willing to put in the work to build what you need! Did you rent a blaster or make something up too?

Hey thanks guys...yea the blaster I had gone and rented it...

All right so before I blasted the car, I started on pulling the RHD clip apart...started to familiarize myself with the difference between LHD to RHD. Which in all honestly the RHD conversion on these cars arent really hard at all in my opinion...any how clip dismantled..

...The piston are actually custom ordered for the D16A1..i'll dig out the box and get you the specs...

 

 

 

Just read the thread - nicely done, especially the rotisserie~  I want one now!  It sucks finding all that rust in the floorboards, eh?

Okay...sorry for the break on updates on project "cahitaPower"...but was in a transition with a new job...

 

Anyhow....now it was time to remove the LHD firewall and start the conversion...But before that, I wanted to make sure everything was on point and reinforced. So i welded a temporarily 2x2 square bar to give the front part of the chassis strength....

 

 

 

On top of that I'd purchased CheddasAuto Fender Braces, and installed them aswell to add to the reinforce.... But before I installed the braces. I just didnt feel comfortable with how thin the sheet of metal was on the chassis where the points of the brace bolt up. So I went and welded another layer of pieces of 18g sheet metal, to give strength to the points which where its bolted up too..

 

 

 

After that its was as simple as sliding in the rivet nets and bolting everything up...

 

 

 

 

Any progress as of late? curious if you got the fire wall swapped over.
