1987 CRX/DX, 1.5L 3bbl. carb., automatic, 140k Miles.
Vehicle will not idle below 1K rpm, stalls out, rpm's just drop out like a rock. Was doing this intermittently for the last month but now does it all the time. Before, if you let it sit overnight, would be fine in the morning. Had to set idle to 1200 rpm so will not stall out idling. Changed both fuel filters and fuel pump seems ok, lots of fuel being pumped out. Carb is nice and clean and I don't smell any gasoline so I don't think it's leaking. When idling at 1200 rpm seems to be stumbling a very little. Timing and timing belt alignment checked (all new timing belt/idler/spring/seals). Power pump works fine if hit the throttle, carb nice and clean. Anyone experience this before? There's more f'in hoses on this thing than Carter's got pills. Thanx.

Edit: OH! USDM! Wow, the hivenest of vacuume lines! blink.gif

I'd look for *Cringe* a vacuume leak

I recommend you start with a can of carb cleaner (with the red straw) and narrow it down from there with small, "search-like" spray patterns.
Your hoses look as if they're in decent condition, so I would start spraying at the carb's baseplate (common place to leak), and go from there.
Don't forget that you have some vacuum lines at the firewall under the intake manifold where the Thermovalves are! I hope this helps.

Thanks 84classicDX, and others who responded. I was wondering where the hell those thermovalves A-D were. Has anyone ever had a vacuum leak inside one of the vacuum control boxes?
