My header just broke into two pieces.   I am wondering if anyone has one or knows someone to custom build (one to many)?  Willing to fund a few if I have any takers.  I have a DC Sports, Lightspeed, and a Pacesetter to copy from if go custom.  

 

Lastly, I can go different styles like stainless but I am looking for racing applications so I am focused more on ceramic coatings and the such.   I would also probably be leaning towards the DC/Lightspeed 4-2-1 rather than the Pacesetter 4-1.  A custom one would also finish with a 2 inch collector.

 

Any ideas on where to pick one up or a custom shop to build new?

So are you looking for a header or someone to build you a custom one. Reading your post it seems like you have a few headers already

I am looking for a header in very good shape or have one custom built.  My best one is a DC sports and on the race car.  On my daily driver my Litespeed header just rusted through and broke in two from the 2-1 (basically before the collector).  My Pacesetter is one that I dont want and will only use as a template for sizing and flange templates.

 

I am getting quotes to custom build one right now from $800 to $2000.  If I start pushing $1,200 it will go on the race car and the DC will go on my daily driver.

At this rate, I would put the DC on the daily driver and make the custom one to your specs. A custom header is on my list of things to do, but I have to get the car running first. In the meantime, I'm using a Chikara header that's been ported and Jet-Hot coated. Are you getting build quotes locally?

No, I haven't looked into it yet. Will you be at LAP this weekend? I wonder if Doug Gill would know of someone who has done them. I know Kirk Olson (gtpilot) has built some, but I don't know if he still could or would. Oh, the joys of modifying these cars.

The header I just made a thread about could very well be custom, but I have no information on it.  The 4-1 collector doesn't look like any that I've seen and it doesn't have a mounting flange.  It's something I'd consider selling if it ends up being something of use.  I can grab some dimensions this weekend if you're interested.

I am also looking into a custom header build. The shop I am talking with builds headers for HPD and others. Price would probably be in $1400 range.

I was not planning to go to the spring nationals as the car is not ready however it is close and I might swing down to talk to Doug.  I know he either built or had some custom headers made for Grady a long time ago.   

 

Does everyone here have their own specs?  Wondering if we can do a group build but not sure if everyone is thinking the same thing.   

 

Right now I am probably just going to try to copy the DC Sports Tri-Y design.
