my carb zc runs that cool.... and to tell you the truth i have no idea why... i think it might be due to the fact that i have my fan on a switch and i just leave it on all the time. just keep topping up the coolent level... i had to for a couple of weeks before it actualy was full. and now i have no over heating issues.

i've got an 85 SI with a stock motor that runs cool (really cool) for no apparent reason. It stays a hair above the C mark during normal driving and gets to it's highest (about 1/3) during autocrosses when it's two drivered. Sorry i can't be of any help,

Is the Acura Integra rad. bigger?

Try running a cooler themostat. maybe a 170 or 180 not a 190

Also if you cool the engine oil it helps the water temp aswell.

my carbd zc also runs cool... MY front end is also almost wide opened

But let me put it to you this way you need to reach a certain operating temp in you engine or is going to cuase premature wear, poor gas mileage and performance, along with building up deposits. Dont know if 1/3 is warm enough.
If only i knew what i was doing!!!

i had that problem at one time .. i was running way too hot so i switched and got a new one.. well this was great it would just run a hair above c all day long., then winter came.. and a cold engine doesent give the heater much to work with, so i went to canadain tire and now she runs at the half way mark all day
all else fails buy the cooler temp one

My car runs so cool....the needle sits about 2mm off the C line.....and I have a turbo, miniture rad, and I drive the snot out of the car.....

the secret is to flush the coolant system completely, get a new theromo, bun better oil, keep the mixture rich , and let the air flow thru it.

before...I was plauged with the constant overheat sysndrom, but I replaced the head gasket, P&P the head, and temps went down.

hmmm.... i flush the radiator every two months or so (with my fingers crossed hoping for an improvement!) have the ac ripped out w/ac fan on a toggle switch, synthetic 10w30, 180 degree thermo, new rad, bout the only things i haven't replaced are the head gasket, water pump and hoses...

so is it safe to say that a cool running rex isn't something you achieve, but something you buy with the car???
.... shucks, guess i'll just have to get a b16a........ smile.gif
