What they probably mean is that if you try using stock torsion bars with a heavier B series engine, you'll bottom out. It would be like throwing a heavier engine in a second gen without doing anything to some 15+year old stock springs. Depending on what size those are, they're not too horrible a deal, though don't we still have a group buy going on around here?

They don't look very thick, and no they are not "essential for proper fit"

Scroll down foo! They also list 'custom torsion bars' but they don't say what size. If they are 29mm, then I'm down for some, since the group buy is effectively dead for that size.
