In Topic: Rubber Preservation

There's no need to use any expensive products, some which may even cause more harm than good. I learned that about Armor All Protectorant back in the '80's. I've been using cheap baby oil/mineral oil for decades on my CRX, on all rubber and plastic parts, including the dashboard, interior panels, '85 Si spoiler, weather stripping, steering wheel, and other plastic and rubber molding and seals, and they are all staying preserved in superb condition. I don't have a single crack in my 27 year old dashboard or steering wheel, or my prone-to-cracking '85 Si spoiler, which is on the car for 20 years now. Once every year or two I saturate tons of baby oil/mineral oil on all plastic and rubber parts, until the oil no longer absorbs over the course of waiting several days. These rubber and plastic parts just love this oil just like us humans love water.

I'm glad this post came up, because it's a reminder to me to do a treatment for my CRX and Insight, since I haven't done it since ~ 2 years ago.
