It's starting to make that ol' familiar noise again. The transaxle's going. Does anyone have one that is in good shape that they'd be willing to part with? I'm in the SF bay area CA, so someone close would be optimal. Thanks. PM me or post. I might need the axle shafts as well, I'm not sure.

I guess my question would be, what is the gearing ratio differences between what you have and what I need to get rid of?

i replaced my Si tranny with a DX...and noitced no difference whatsoever.
I've got an 86 Si tranny, but it's in Ohio and you'd have to pull it.

The DX tranny's geared a bit longer, I've heard 4.27:1 for the final drive, Si's got 4.40.
I have one (87 DX) taking up space on the garage floor, shifted smooth when I pulled it to make room for the D16A1. It's definitely light enough (50lbs, probably) that UPS will ship it, let me know if you're interested.

This was one of the reasons I registered here. I've got a referbished si tranny purchased from asap motors in texas (not sure what year it came from). I never swapped the old one out of my 85 cause the damn frame bent through the floor when I jacked it up on the pinches. I still have the bill of purchase for the tranny if it makes a difference. Also have a power torque clutch. The clutch was opened to check the condition and size, but never installed. The only problem is that I'm all the way on the other coast here in Jersey.
