You guys are looking at it all wrong, the only way to correct the weight distribution on a V6 CRX would be a rear transaxle... wink.gif

That's what I said!

I've looked at the wiring requirements for the Accords of that Gen, and I would not know off the top of my head an easy way to fit it in the CRX, look close to OEM and easy to service. In other words, I don't know how I would make the install look clean as a B20Z/OBD-2. I don't recall, but what ECU is/was he planning to use? I don't recall a 5spd ECU for that engine/obd combo, unless an Acura had one.

If that was local and I knew of an OBD-2 manual ECU for that engine I would get it for my 99 Accord.

I wouldn't even bother with the stock OBDII, there's so many third party engine management systems that it's not worth it to use the stock ecu.

In TX, 87 is old enough to no longer need emissions testing too.

only in smaller counties do they do the safety only. up here they still have to be 25 years to be exempt from emissions.
A grown up living with their parents is a loser.

I forgot by whom, but I was told my '87 had it's last emissions check last year, 2010. It was odd to hear that at 24 years, but I had found something that backed that up. Been too long since I looked.

Granted, it also only takes 100 bucks and the right part of town to get a sticker too.

said front weight distribution.....ahhh, thats prob. toooo crazy right? lol

imagine a crix taking a 442, a charger, a nova, or similar bad ass muscle car........

I'm sure you could swap a tiny V8 powerplant into a CRX... take a 3.5 V8 and drivetrain from a MG or something, make it fit. What a Frankenstein of a car that would be though! haha

Yeah, that would only take moving some motormounts, fabbing a mounting system in the rear, modifying the body to form a tunnel, and moving the gas tank. But it sounds interesting (HA).

Remember when Car & Driver did a lot of that to drop a second engine in the back? They had to use automatic transmissions, but they head a quick 4wd crx.

its 25 years, 86's are legal this year.
I'm tempted every time I see this car but I do not have the resources to take on the job unless I could shop the mounting work out to another place/person that I can trust. I'm fairly sure that I (anyone) could run an MSD ignition controller and a small edlebrock (propane/natural gas would be easier) to keep things simple or megasquirt with most of the stock stuff. Gas is going to hit $4 soon, I feel that my budget will get cut
