About Me
I don't agree with calling someone a "ricer" just because they like something you don't.
I don't think I've ever seen a single time when there was something on a car that I liked (someone else's car) that someone else called "ricey".
Here's the fact... if it's tastefully done, regardless of whether it's aftermarket taillights, "JDM" pieces, whatever it is, it's still fine. Someone put their hard earned money and their own time into making things the way they wanted them. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about their car, THEY built it. THEY have to live with the result.
Maybe next time they won't build it quite like that. Maybe they'll grow out of some idea of style they had. Maybe it was a first project, and they were just "testing the waters" so to speak, to see what could be done.
You can't say that isn't the way it is... if you've ever done a project, or even modified ANY part of your car, and it was the first time you did it, you weren't sure in the beginning how it would turn out... and when you were done, even if it wasn't quite PERFECT, especially by every one else's standards, you DIDN'T CARE! You kept it that way, because that was YOUR WORK AND MONEY.
When others judged you negatively for using those parts/methods, you either blew it off, or got offended. How do you think everyone else feels about it when you do it to them?
OK, so I've gone a little off topic here... after all, this is supposed to be about ME.
Frankly, there isn't much about me. At least I don't think so. Apparently, I'm really smart. (I say apparently b/c I consistently test @ 130 or above on standard IQ tests.) (And everyone usually tells me.)
Alot of people hate that I'm smart. Something about the way I do things seems backwards to them, I guess. But I usually try to do everything in the easiest way possible, or at least a way that will teach me something.
I'm always willing to help people, on one condition. YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO HELP YOURSELF.
More later.

I like to hang out with people that have similar interests... but by hang out, I mean work on cars or stuff... and by people, I mean mature individuals who don't get pissed when everything in life doesn't go their way, and by similar interests, I mean exactly that.

Have a brew, but don't get trashed, be responsible for yourself, and have respect for EVERYONE, regardless of one person's likes or dislikes vs. yours. Sale Of Car
27 January 2009 - 11:40 PM
It will remain in my possession until he comes to pick it up, within a reasonable amount of time.
The details of the sale have been made clear to both myself and him, and are being adhered to.
(I still have to get him the head and hub that I threw into the sale, they're up with my Van.)
This post is simply to make it public that as of today, My paypal has been credited $300 for the sale of said vehicle, and this post also serves the purpose of preventing wrongdoing on either side of the transaction.
This concludes our broadcast day.
EDIT: In case this is the first time you're reading this... the guy took the car without me being present, and grabbed the wheels off my other car as well. The rest of the thread past the first few posts is dealing with that situation.
Parting Out The '86 Si And My '89 Sedan
11 January 2009 - 09:03 PM
Driver's side fender is OK, has a crack. Driver's side skirt is good, passenger side needs a patch in the front (fender overlap).
The engine/tranny are D16A1 Blacktop, not sure on mileage or condition.
The interior on the car is minus one seat, but nearly perfect. It's a california chassis, I have only found paint stains looking for rust, nothing that sandpaper and paint wont fix.
The '89 is a POS - but the parts are good. You could buy the whole car, but you'd have to get a new VIN panel for the dash to get it inspected, along with about $300 in parts and a windshield. It has a header, lowering springs (2" static) and a MPFI swap kit on it. It's also got a complete CRX Si dash in it. (2nd gen)
In the storage shed, I also have a B18A1 block and crank, and some other odds and ends...
Whatever isn't sold within 30 days is most likely going to end up in the junk yard... I have better things to do right now with my money, with a kid on the way and such.
PM or email with requests and offers, and you pay shipping from 17030 or 16925 (dad's house), unless we make a different deal.
Pickups are welcome, but it's not my house, so overnights aren't an option.
If 16925 is closer for you, you can pick up there on some weekends when I'm up there.
I can deliver if you're near RT 15 in PA or in the Elmira/Mansfield/Troy/Towanda/Canton area.
I'll gladly sell either whole vehicle for the right price, and keep in mind - if you don't buy it, it's getting crushed.
I can hold some parts in storage until Sarge's meet, if you're a long distance away and plan on showing up. I won't be there though, so you'll still have to get the parts from me.
To hold a part specifically, I will need a deposit. If you don't want to provide a deposit, I'll keep it until it sells. If a deposit is made, the price is locked, and I will not back out of the deal regardless of other offers.
The D16A1 engine/transmission have a current best offer of $125.
