So i fixed the timing on my car and i'm back to where i started. It will idle but nothing else. I also have oil leaking from between the block and the cylinder head but only on a little section. maybe a crack or warped? Is there any way for me to tell? I have a spare engine that i can get another head from but i don't want to if it's just a loose bolt or something. ANy help would be great

Probably a warped head and/or block

Did the person tighten the bolts to the proper torque and in the correct sequence (see factory service manual)? You may check the flatness of both the block and the cylinder head with a precision straight edge and feeler gauge. See the 1986 Civic factory service manual, engine section, on this site for the proper procedures.

Also, is the head gasket good? You would have to replace it after checking the flatness anyway.

Going to Hawaii? You need a Dune Buggy.
