I'm wanting to learn how to paint cars. I went to Google and typed in "Where to buy paint for a car." Then I clicked on one of the results on the 1st page and I scrolled down and started watchin the video. I saw something I wanted to share with you all.

Video Here

I've seen that video before, and I don't understand why he'd paint the hood and header panel with a 2 stage paint but leave the rest of the car in the original single stage.

PS: 2 stage really is the way to go if you can. I painted my CRX in a single stage, and later got to paint a van in a 2 stage. I found the base/clear to be actually easier to get good coverage with and the result was excellent. Really no need for post paint work.
If you were ambitious, you could block the base, and then go heavy on the primer and wet sand/polish for a mirror smooth finish. (If you wet sand/polish a single stage it also looks wonderful, but it's just not the same)
