Does anyone know of have a diagram of the engine hoist points for an 87 crx si?

I have looked at the manual but it does not specify where those points are.

Thank you

There should be one just below the valve cover, behind the cam cover.  The other is shared with the tranny ground strap (on the tranny).

I will be taking out just the engine and leaving the tranny in. Are there any other places I can hook up the engine to hoist it up?

Thats all just two engine hoist places?

Ohh. on another note: What size bolts should I use to bolt the engine to the engine stand?? any ideas?

I was told that the tranny bolts will do the trick, I just want to make sure that they will be strong enough.

Thank you

Any bolt with enough length and the correct thread will do the job just snugged up nit torqued

I used to have a cheaper motor stand and I could only get 3 bolts in most Honda Motors so if you can't get all 4 don't worry about it never had much heavier engines come off.

And you can pull the engine with any attach point that is strong enough you can put a chain around the exhaust manifold and intake you can bolt the chain to the exhaust manifold studs or intake stud pretty much any thing that takes a 12mm socket is game just run the nuts or bolt all the way down so you dont bend your bolts hell you can drop it out the bottom with a couple floor jacks and no hoist that's how Honda put them in originally

just don't be scared and use common sense do not bolt the chain to the carburetor

also I find it easier to pull both motor and trans at the same time if not you have to pull the engine away far enough to clear the input shaft of the transmission it's not so hard to pull it out but getting it back in really sucks

Good luck

Billy.
