sounds like you could just use shocks for right now.  From my searching, it looks like Tokico, GAB and Koni all make good shocks for the MkI.  Whether or not they are all available, who knows?

Any of them should work fine, and the nice thing is that they all make pretty good shocks that will work great when you go to more aggressive spring rates.

Have you tried some of the VW wheels and tires on it yet? Or did you get rid of them all?

Ya, I kept the 14X6 Borbet's with the Kumho V700's from my GTI.  I auto-x'ed the Si on those Saturday.

I'm planning to put some Falken Azenis on the Borbets for the street.  I'll probably end up auto-x'ing on the Falkens a few times, but the V700's are shot, and I want to get rid of those 16" wheels that are on it, so putting street tires on those 14's seems like the thing to do right now.

I'll then need to find some 13" wheels for auto-x tires ...  So if you wanna sell one of those sets that you have......  Heck, or even work out a trade for the 16's, let me know.

Anyway, if you thing the HF is easier to steer, like it has power steering or something, that is because of the skinny tires. The 16s on the Si will feel harder to steer because of the wide tires.

well, what I felt was that the HF has more feedback, and that it just plain turns-in quicker.  It doesn't feel lighter, but I suspect that the wide tires on the Si counteract the slower steering rack, thus giving both cars about the same "steering weight".  Which means if I put the HF rack in my Si, I better start doing some pushups wink.gif

What rack are you using, Steve?  Can you find the HF racks in the junkyards?  I might be too lazy to swap them between my cars.
