hi,

Im bussy with a D16Z5 turbo project. But i really have a dilemma,....running on stock internals on about 6-8 psi...wideband tuned, TD04 turbo.

OR replacing the stock rods for tuner toy rods (the same as eagle, but cheaper), and run 8 maybe 9 psi a bit safer

OR does replacing the rods alone not really much unless i also replace the pistons (so i have to bore the shit and everything).

OR i run as 1st option reasonably cheap 6-8 psi on a stock engine (clutch replaced by spec),..so i do not have to get the engine out.
And build an engine when i got the time, space and money.

What would be you choice considering that its a daily driver that has to last, but also is reasonable powerfull (180bhp). (im just a broke student sad.gif )

what i have so far is:

new Tuner toys injectors,
moates burner and romulator,
zeitronix wideband with datalogging,
TD04 turbo,
HF manifold,
PM6 or PM7 with turbo-edit,
little intercooler..about 3x16x6 inch
turboXS bov,
AEM boost sensor,
spec stage3 clutch,
fidanza 7lbs flywheel,

The real big problem is that i just don't have the time and space to get out the engine, let it get bored, and build it a bit.

Save your coin and run the motor stock... You should be fine on 6-7 psi...plus the car will boogie.

if you don't have time and money to pull the engine and build it then that shouldn't be an option...

keep the stock motor and tune very carefully to prevent detonation. i am running stock internals in my ew4 with 11psi with no problems, but it isn't a daily driver.

hmm if i had the space to build an engine..i'd probably buy me another engine and build it to hold about 300-350 bhp....just don't have the space.....im not in a hurry so money will be generated wink.gif

I build motors in my basement. I took one little corner and that's where I work on stuff. I tear down out in the garage but then drag everything down stairs. I make sure I have a buudy to help carry it back up.

Random length ARP studs can be found on summit racing and jegs.
