Looks good.  Is cardboard the final material that you will use?

#574262 Enkei Rpf1: Which 14 Inch Wheel Fits The 1G Crx?

Posted by Omega Mugen on 08 October 2015 - 08:14 PM in 1G CRX

You look like a pimp with those gold Enkeis.  I mean that in a good way.

#574261 What Brakes Are You Guys Using For Track Days?

Wilwood four piston caliper front kit for Integra from Fast Brakes.  Use any pad you want.  HF aluminum drums in rear.

#574260 Help With Clutch

Posted by Omega Mugen on 08 October 2015 - 07:58 PM in Transmission

Well, I'll be.  This is a 2G carbed ZC transmission and the clutch disc appears to be the same as the 86-87 CRX (splines and friction surface).

#574259 Help With Clutch

Awesome.  Thanks!

#574248 Help With Clutch

Posted by Omega Mugen on 07 October 2015 - 08:41 PM in Transmission

Can anyone give me the diameter for the friction surface of a 86-87 CRX clutch?

Been trying to find the proper Exedy kit for my "special" transmission.  The splines match the CRX Si.  I was wondering if the friction surface would match the flywheel.

#572254 Imsa Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge

Posted by Omega Mugen on 19 March 2015 - 06:50 PM in Competition

Is anyone a fan? I haven't paid attention to it or the United Sports Car Championship since the merger of American LeMans Series and Grand-Am.

#572253 87 Hf Weber Conversion

Posted by Omega Mugen on 19 March 2015 - 06:43 PM in 1G CRX

If you bought a kit with the adapter plate, I'd say yes.

If you need to fabricate the adapter plate, that might take two weekends.

#571971 87 Hf Weber Conversion

Posted by Omega Mugen on 19 February 2015 - 06:41 PM in 1G CRX

Jetting...oh my.  This scares a lot of people away from carbs, but this ain't the old days, so fear not.  I like buying jets on ebay--air corrector and fuel.  Don't forget buying a small collection of emulsion tubes.  What I like to tune carbs is Innovate Motorsports' air fuel meter with oxygen sensor.  Make sure your running a bit richer than stoichometric (13.0 to one or so) and you should be good.  The only time you need to re-tune is when you change something like your exhaust, intake or compression and such.

#571737 '84 Dx Blown Head Gasket, Si Head On Shelf But Question On Intake

Posted by Omega Mugen on 02 February 2015 - 07:41 PM in 1G CRX

I have a CRX DX with an Si motor, DX intake, and Weber downdraft carb.  It runs great.  I think I had to plug CVCC ports in the manifold with PC Fahrenheit, which is an epoxy putty that tolerates high temperatures.  I use the Si intake manifold gasket and ran the Si cam with Si distributer and ran a carbed Prelude electric fuel pump.  Other than the wiring for the fuel pump, all this was plug and play and pretty easy to do.

#571091 Oil And Oil Filter.

Posted by Omega Mugen on 08 December 2014 - 08:48 PM in 1G CRX

Of all filters, I've read/seen Fram is not the brand to use.  I've seen Penzoil and Purolator for these cars.  Not sure if Mobile 1 makes this size.  That would be my pick if it were available.  You can't go wrong with Honda filters.

#571090 Fuel Pump Not Running

Posted by Omega Mugen on 08 December 2014 - 08:44 PM in 3G Civic

You should connect a volt meter to your wire where it connects to the terminal on the pump to see if it gets electricity.  Maybe it's not the relay.

#571089 Cranks

Posted by Omega Mugen on 08 December 2014 - 08:39 PM in 1G CRX

Cranks are identical as both engines have the same stroke (and bore).

#570872 Questions On Suspension Changes I'd Like To Make - Springs, Shocks

Posted by Omega Mugen on 20 November 2014 - 07:25 PM in 1G CRX

Don't forget a rear sway bar.  It makes a huge difference on these cars.

#570736 Tokico Illuminas

Posted by Omega Mugen on 13 November 2014 - 07:05 PM in General Posts

Do you have any more of those shortened Koni reds? I'd be interested.  Hit me with a PM.

To stay on topic, where can I buy the little red knobs for the top of the front Illuminas?  Mine popped off.

#570409 What I Have Learned About Honda Twin Piston Calipers

Posted by Omega Mugen on 29 October 2014 - 07:50 PM in General Posts

Nice discovery!  I am going to have to look out for those the next time I am overseas.

As an alternative, Fastbrakes sells a four-piston Wilwood kit.  They aren't going to fit under a 13 inch wheel though.  I think the only thing you need to make the six piston Wilwood caliper fit is a custom billet bracket.

The good thing about two pistons is the pad backing does not bow out as much when  the pads get excessively hot.  That means more contact of the pad with the disc and better braking.

#570383 Do D15 Blocks Crack Very Easily

Posted by Omega Mugen on 28 October 2014 - 06:57 PM in 1G CRX

No, they are bomb proof.  Being aluminium, it's easy to screw up the head bolt tightening, sequence, etc.

#570382 Nooooooooooooooo Why God? Water In Oil. Advise Please.

You need to 1. change your head gasket.  2.  Seriously check your cooling system.

#570355 Are Hoods Interchangeable?

Posted by Omega Mugen on 27 October 2014 - 07:04 PM in General Posts

1g CRX and 3g civic body parts are different and do not interchange.  Among Si, DX, and HF 1g CRX hoods, they interchange.  Si and DX Civic hoods interchange.  CRX and 3g Civic are really two different species with the same drive trains and brake parts.

#570331 Interchangeable Body Parts?

Posted by Omega Mugen on 24 October 2014 - 08:27 PM in General Posts

On CRX, they all interchange.

#570293 Difference Between Carb'd And Fuel Injected Rear Mount?

Posted by Omega Mugen on 23 October 2014 - 05:35 AM in 1G CRX

There should be no difference between Carb and FI engine mounts.  I put an Si motor and transaxle in a carb car using the stock mounts and had no issues.
