I saw the new hoods at Marcus's house on Saturday... they are beautiful.
He is using my car to get the final dimentions for his rear spoiler (as inspired by Mugen, but truly a Heel Toe creation). Hopefully they will be available for purchase before too long.

Scott, you or marcus should offer the panel you made. That will make a big difference in several ways. Stability of the hood as you found and cooling.
Im getting ready to order my new motor. So my one off rad will be going in and I was kicking around the idea of this hood. Since I do solo and time attack I hit speeds over 110. Anyone had this up that high? Ive seen mention of 80mph but theres a big difference. Thanks.

The panel that Victor is talking about is the black panel between the head lights.
This keeps the air coming in through the "grill" from lifting the one piece hood at freeway (or better) speeds.
I defer to Marcus on the manufacturing side of things, I just whip up stuff as I need them. I am lucky to have access to a sheetmetal brake (bender) at work. I bet people could create something in an alternate materiel (Plastic? Wood? Pressboard?), rather than the sheet aluminum that I used.
I share Victor's concern about the CF one piece hood "at speed." It is so light that it tends to lift and "dance" if not tightly secured. I added the black panel to direct most of the lift through the radiator.
The black panel solves about 90% of the hood lift issue. But being the nervous type, I have added a set of hood pins. Let me tell you, it takes a lot of nerve to drill into that beautiful hood. But I am pleased with the results and I have a lot more "peace of mind" when traveling at speed.

Anyone weighed one of these (CF or FG) vs. stock? I'm interested if it's a decent bit lighter (minus hardware on both, as I just have pins).

The Long Carbon hood weighs 16 lbs. The oem hood is quite a bit heavier. I will try to get a weight on that for comparison's sake.
