Have been through the site and finally some people with some interest in pushing carbs. I am a begginer with the Civic and would like to ask some questions
- The SI head that mates to a 1.5 EW2 engine, what are the gains, are the valves, cam, springs better than the EW2 head.
- Will the factory EW2 valve train not handle the increased load that would result from a double weber with exaust headers upgrade setup.
- Did the EW3 and EW4 SI engines ship Fuel injected only.
- Is it true that the aim is to cash in on the better valve train that the SI head offers and then rip the FI intake manifold off and put the EW2 one.
- What does the SI head allow the engine to rev to
Can you guys suggest the best way for me to go, my EW2 head is destroyed, an exaust valve bent from overheating(girlfriend drove it to death) I now have to get a new head.

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

i did an si head swap. i used the dx block and the si head. i was expecting a little more power out of the combo than what i had. out of curiosity i built the si block and dx head into a higher comp motor and was a little it happier than the dxblock/si head combo. but its now off the road for a d16a1
the revs arent limited, so be careful with your shifts as usual
the ew2 head would be just fine under a dual weber set up
although some 1g racers say the ew2 head is better wth the si valve train in it.
lots of thread covering the topic too. just give a detailed search
