Well i'm an idiot and in an attempt to erase a post, I deleted the whole thread!!      so i guess I'll just have to start it all over again. At least this time my photo bucket is organized... sorta... I'm probably gonna omit some stuff because things changed over the years like when i wanted to do a D16 swap and ended up going B16... so there's that... but i'm going to add all the pictures i can!!

 

This story starts on a sunny day in Texas, i was 18 and about to start college, i was driving in an old 76 cutlass oldsmobile and let's face it a V8 monster is not fuel efficient so i started scouring the papers for a Honda Civic. I came across this beauty for $800 bucks, all original, just dirty and well worn.

as most teenagers do, they want a booming system in their car!! 

 

 

 

needless to say, that was stolen... 

 

so i stripped the rear interior...

 

 

 

and eventually became fed up with the amount of road noise... so what does any incompetent teenager do?

sound deadening everywhere!!

 

 

 

and to add to the madness, i added some sound deadening paint as well for good measure... 

 

 

 

 

remember folks, i was young!! tried cleaning up this mess... just wires everywhere... 

 

 

i also got rid of the antenna... i don't listen to the radio anymore anyway... 

 

 

in retrospect, i don't even know why i did this thinking they would look like the EDM ones... but whatever, dumbs teenager...

i remember this day, i was working on throwing in the del sol seats and needed a break in the shade of the car... 

 

 

 

 

there used to be a writeup for it but i don't feel like going through all that again... unless someone really wants to see it... 

 

I was starting to become attached to this car and hence began her Cinderella story... i was cleaning her more often and even went out and bought her some shoes..

I got myself one of the last of the rarest of short shifters... a DC sports!! she still resides in the car today... 

 

 

i even managed to pick up a shift knob from rpr around the same time... nicely compliments the short shifter, and is also still chillin' in the car!! haaha

 

 

 

painted the pillar panels...

 

 

 

went out to a party one night and some guy managed to get into my car thinking it was his... well needless to say he threw up in my door pockets.. so those had to go... installed these bad boys... obviously couldn't do the front and not the rear... and by the way... they're aluminium...

with plans to do an engine swap in the future, i hit up the junkyards and acquired the bigger brake setup from an Integra, cleaned them up and went with mad JDM orange YO!!

 

 

 

 

this was probably the last mod i made right before the decision to join the Air Force... Moving the battery to the trunk...

 

 

yes that stuff was covered up, including the battery being in the trunk... 

 

 

she sat for a couple years, because i was stationed in England, but she sat very pretty and waited patiently while i was away...

so whenever i'd come home for visits on leave (usually after a deployment) and needless to say i wanted to see my baby, especially to add whatever piles of boxes i had delivered to my parents house... i finally got the suspension i'd always wanted...

 

 

 

 

 

and that tired old EW4 was ready to come out... 

 

 

so this guy was ready to go in...

the 2.5" exhaust and rear panhard bar were previously installed as well before she sat again for a couple more years...

 

 

i always felt bad leaving her...

 

 

but there was always work to be done whenever i'd return!! as i had already done the rear with sound deadening, i figured why stop there? so i came home, stripped the interior and started this process all over again..

in between sessions of painting the floor... i was installing this thing...

 

 

 

 

 

and i pretty much worked on cleaning up the interior wiring to set it up for my rywire harness... wiring of course takes ages!! 

 

I left her again for about another year and some change... i was being moved to Mountain Home, Idaho!! probably the worst place i've ever been... but i will say it gave me an opportunity to get loads more work done to the car!!

 

pulled this guy from the car... and installed my Mugen one!!

 

 

 

threw on my sway bars!!

then got around to the mother of all headaches!! Wiring!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

but i'll tell you this much, it was totally worth it!! hahaha

 

then it was time to clean up the bay a bit...

pulled out that B20, i had other plans to go VTEC!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i tried to tuck as much away as i could... i unfortunately spun a bearing... so yeah... that motor was toast... sent it into the machine shop and while it was away, i started toying around with other things...

 

I bought this off of Zakats a few years back and just barely got around to installing it...

 

 

 

people always ask me why i keep the rear seats in... i think because, this car is a daily/weekend warrior, although this car is setup nicely, i'm not in it for the competition, i do it because it's fun, but yes this car will be autocrossed...

for those that have been on the board long enough.. i bought these from EA_hatch after he crashed his 3G...

 

 

also got around to painting the lower half of the car... it's chalkboard paint because, i don't know... i like to draw on things? and a nice little surprise i picked up from an old man i randomly ran into who sold it to me for $100!! along with the car cover for another $40!!

 

 

Caster/Camber plates... standard... along with a shot of my brake booster delete in the background...

but damn she looks good!!

 

 

years ago i went in a direction that led me to never installing a deck again... it comes on when you turn the accessories on as a radio would and runs off the bluetooth from your phone or whatever...

 

 

but what happens if your phone dies?!?! i hate seeing wires so i did this!1

this should pretty much catch me up to modern day events!! I just got the motor back from the machinist, just need to replace some gaskets and torque things down then she'll be ready to go in!!

How long have you had this project/when did you purchase it?
