Hi,
I am new to this forum.
I am from South Africa and I have a 1986 civic sedan other wise knows as a honda ballade 1300 popup. With 300 000km on it.
I have looked at Service Manuals but none of them match my carb.
And it is eating lots of petrol(gas) per day.
I am running out of idears to try so if anyone could please sugeste any even if they sound stupid to you let me know.
Thanx!

ok, i know this might sound dumb, but is the choke still engaged while your driving around?
i sometimes forget to take the choke off and it goes through tons of gas.
let me see if i can find something for you.
does the carb have any mfg tags on it?
you simply must take a pic of your car with S Africa in the background and post it up for us!

I think he did that already.
On another note. I love the nosepanel and fenders and the corner indicator lamps on that car.
Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

Are there any other symptoms?
Poor idle, stumbling/hesitation, lack of power, smoke, etc?
Also, have you considered it might not be the carb, it could be ignition related?
You could try adjusting the timing to spec, new rotor/cap/plugs (properly gapped NGKs preferably) & wires.
All of those are pretty cheap (the most expensive are the wires if you get good NGK ones).
When you change the plugs you can check the old ones to see if it really is running rich.

Yeah, a bit different, but not much, just the layout of the lamps are different from the USDM '85
If you are interested, I would love to trade you for these.
Also, what does the badge say on the trunk on the drivers side rear?
Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.

The idle was abit odd once, I ajusted the idle screw, on some service manuals
they point to the location of my idle screw and call it the fuel/air mix.
This confuses me because other books i have read say this is not the air/fuel mix..?
There is some hesitation if i rev hard at about 4000 to 5000 rpm, the car gives a slight jerk.
I think i have lack of power going up hill, but I am not sure because its a 1300..?
No smoke oddly,I am getting black suit on my tail pice so I know i am running abit rich or was, the only way I know to ajust the air fuel mix is to ajust the float bowl I have lowerd it alot and this is helping, abit the car is warming up better... but its still burning alot, if i lower the float there will be no more fuel and it will stall.
I dont know what spec to ajust the timeing on the distributor i have left that as is.
I must get new spark plugs!(this has helped too)
I have replaced the spark plug lead with new silicone ones.
A new cap is on,but I will check this.
A new rotor.....hmmmm as far as I know this one is 20 years old..?
I think I will redo the timeing of the valves ..again..
Hope that makes sence!
thanx for the responce!

and the clear lens indicaters are form a toyta rsi ground down to fit, sounds kitch but it works
eeer i dont understand your terminology too well...
no fenders, bumper (only scrap yards if u luky)
header panel <--? whats that?
corner lights(yes, i think so and clear lens crystals spots)
headlight buckets <--? whats that?
