I know quite a few people here have played the original Live For Speed, but I just found Live For Speed S2, the new version. It's currently in Alpha, and so far dosen't seem bad at all... I dusted off my steering wheel and have been playing all morning. The old version's physics engine didn't really seem realistic at all. The new one, while not perfect, is a huge improvement. The demo has a number of test courses and tracks, several driving skill practices, rallys, as well as a slalom, skidpad, and mini autocross. There's multiplayer to drive against others online, too. The full version has many more cars and tracks, as well as a full on autocross course designer where you can make your own autocross course and drive it against folks online.

The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

GT4 got boring really quickly. So did Forza, but Forza, you can play online, and that NEVER gets boring.

Nope. Only thru an FTP server, and that's extremely complicated for most. So nobody plays it online.

I played the 1st one a bit, saw the new one today when my mate was playing it, it looks pretty impressive, so impressive that the handling looked pretty uncontrollable because of the realism

LFS sucks when you don't have a cool steering wheel. Its just not the same when you use the mouse and keyboard
and i think the reason that GT4 doesn't have the cool online play thing is that they skimmped on it for a faster release. I'd assume they'll release a new version that has online play (without the use of ftp)...this is all just assumption, though.

They're supposed to do just that. And hopefully in that version they'll fix the crappy graphics engine bugs, too.
Forza will always be better, thou. GT4 may have more cars, but Forza has a level of customization that GT4 could never hope to reach.
You can't do this:
or this:
on GT4. And on Forza, you can race your custom designs online. It's just endlessly awesome.

Forza This!
There are 3 goals when modding a car.
Cheap, Reliable, and Fast.
Now the down side. You only get to pick 2...
Fact: A recent study shows that 92% of all teenagers have turned Emo.
Put this in your sig if you're one of the 8% who stayed gangster as $h!t.

Holy poop! I just had to add that I downloaded the 130 MB file from the second USA mirror and got a steady 644 kb/sec on my cable line. Sorry, but that's the fastest I have downloaded evar!!!! 3 Min 30 Seconds total.
