alright, i gathered the part about the air passing under the car causing lift, and i had always thought about that.
considering that, would adding a lip to the front bumper help at all? i've noticed my parts car in the back has the lip on the front bumper. And is there a difference between the 87 SI bumper and 86 HF bumper, i always assumed it was just the look.
other than that, i'm too broke to pay for torsion bars at the moment, i'm trying to get new struts/shocks/springs first.
Anyone have some torsion bars they might be willing to part with, i have a parts crx, most parts removed have been body parts, but i am willing to work out trades plus cash (full a/c system available)

I have lowered my car and added a lower air dam (the Standard/HF air dam is about an inch deeper than the Si air dam).
i think the lip on the bottom of the front bumper is the air dam.

Yes the cars profile is that of a wing, BUT SO IS EVERY OTHER CAR ON THE ROAD. A inclined surface also creates downforce, the area of the windshiled and the area of the front of the car easily overcome that of the lift that a car creates. They only cars that have real issues at excessive speeds (150mph+) are Beetles and Audi TTs. These cars have to be modified with a small rear wing to stop them from back flipping on the Autobahn. If you don't believe me reasearch it. And the thing about the rear bumper cover really doesn't do anything until there is a car within a foot of your rear bumper. This is what happens in nascar when a car comes up behind another and without touching the car it is able to spin the other car out. Air will go the easiest route, it acts like water, if it can not flow through an area it will not go there, it is due to pressures. Take a hose and put a T in the line. Turn on the tap and watch the water flow through both hoses, now cap one of the ends with your thumb. Notice there is still water in the hose but all the water is escaping the none caped end.
The man reason for the car being nervous at high speeds is due to the fact that the suspension is a poor design on the front and the rear. The Torsion bar front suspension just dosen't react quick enough to bumps and so the car rides the top of most of the bumps. On the rear beam if one wheel drops the other raises, this causes the rear to steer into the bumps.
