hey all,
There was a massive move at one stage - 2yrs ago when Digi Dashes were extremely sought after - fetching up to $600US for a dash..
Has the market dried up? are people still chasing these things?
Just curious as I have two and im deciding if I wanna keep them or at least one.

i know i want one but at the moment i know i can't buy one since my funds are going to other things best advice is to post in the FS with a ball park figure and the OBO and see if someone offers enough to have you part with one

Well, they were hot a year or so ago. The last few on ebay only fetched like $200. I'd hold onto them until the economy gets back up to steam.

If someone wants to convert to a digi dash they could possibly modify a 1986 Mazda touring sedan cluster to fit into their car. I know it's not a Honda but very similar. Shape would be a bit different but would be an interesting project to undertake. A lot depends on how it gets it's speed signal, cable otr electronically as I never checked. JS

Though if someone was good with making curcuits I think it may be possible to get it to display MPH, even though the the display would indicate KM. Just have to have the curcuit measure the timing between pulses, and than generate a pulse that is that (time in KM * X = time in MPH)

The resident expert on Digi Dashes in California is Doug (Wolfcrx).
Besides the digi dash there is a box that contains some important electronics that needs to be sourced with the dash.

I just did some more research/math and my first guess based on 2548 pulses per Km and 4000 pulses per mile from a VSS makes me think that if you multipled the time between each pulse by about 1.57 you would trick the display into showing miles on a display for Km. The input pulses at 1MPH should be 4000/hour, but the output to the display should only be 2548/hour so it would show 1Km while going 1MPH. Sounds like a really, really simple curcuit.
Edit: I also think it would be important to include a switch to disable the curcuit or to change to multiplier to 1 so that the dash displays KM as it would without the curcuit. Also, is the odometer on this dash mechanical like normal clusters or is it digital? If digital, that could pose a problem it keeping track of miles/KM on the chassis.

Find me one that was available for the 3G and I'll buy it.
I wish I could say the same, but not at this time. New baby due in a month, and lots of needed work on the cars. I wish one of them needed new springs and struts, I'd be all over that deal Marcus has, but......

The odo isn't digital & is in Km.
It's not that hard getting used to km--- 40km~25mi, 100k=62m or 10k=6.2mi.
Fun scaring people riding with & baffling the guy @ echeck ( yer speedometer's broke!)

I agree that it would not be hard to get use to, but if someone else had to drive the car for what ever reason I think having MPH displayed would be better. I like that the digidash in my other car has the standard/metric button to switch the display, changes the readout on the whole data center (Mile<->Kilometers, gallons<->liters and such), but in both settings the stupid thing says "the door is a jar".
