I am going to go out on a limb here... I had this problem recently...

Check the spade connector on the starter... it is known to come loose and since you were finagling in that area, you might have knocked it loose.

Replace that clutch kit... THE ENTIRE KIT... Throw out bearing, friction disc, and pressure plate.

In my 87 CRX Si... the passenger seat side bolsters hold you in the seat better... so I switched them in my CRX.

Got it fixed. Was indeed starter...

The spade connector clip broke off and ontop of that the starter was missing teeth.... LOL...

I know its not the ignition switch, because when I hold the key to start, I can hear the pump sending fuel...

Got a new starter, putting in today...
