I have to pick up some new control arms and I was wondering if I should just go with the oem replacements or is there a better set that will swap on? I read the kakabox thread and I know he used the teg arms but that was on a different chassis. Will the same arms work on the 1g?

To answer your question, YES.
Honda, because it's hard to look baller in your mom's Volvo.Posted Image
The entire tool selection at Sears or the contents of a Snap-On truck will do you no good if you do not know how to use them.

If you want the bit of extra camber, go with the teg arms, they will fit on the 1G just like on the 3G. Though you might need to go direct to Honda for those, I've heard more than once of people trying to order generic arms for the teg and ending up with civic arms.

I would check on this, my teg rear would not bolt in my 87 CR-X, the arms were too short. I had to swap my CR-X arms onto the teg rear and everything worked perfectly. I did the same swap on a 3g Civic, and that was a direct bolt in. I don't know of a camber difference between teg and civic arms, however I know you can by wedges to offset the arm to gain negative camber. Good luck, Bill.

To be more specific will the p/n 51351-SD2-003, right front radius arm and 51361-SD2-003, left front radius arm fit on my 1g and be nice for a daily driver and not have overly aggressive tire wear?

84-87 CRX, Civic Hatch, Civic Wagon, or 86-89 Integra radius arms will all bolt in. The Integra bars result in a little more camber. You won't notice any real tire wear difference regardless the arms you go with.

You should probably also get an alignment afterwords, especially if you get the teg arms as the camber change might also impact your toe.

I recently developed a high speed shimmy so I ordered the Integra LCA's and bushings from Acura today. Is there anything else I need to make these arms work in the CRX? Also is there any "while your in there" service or replacements I should do?

Today I installed p/n 51351-SD2-003, right front radius arm and 51361-SD2-003, left front radius arm. I also installed new bushings as well.

It did clear up the shimmy and steering response is much better. I did however notice while I was in there that my end links and bushings are shot, see pics

Does anybody have the energy suspension part number for just these bushings?

While I don't have any part numbers, there is nothing special or unique about sway bar link bushings. You should be able to call up/email the manufacturer, send them the specs (thickness, ED, ID) and they should be able to match them up.

It shouldn't be something that complex, they should be able to match something up to the car's model and year. If the person replying says they have nothing that would work, they are being lazy.

Or... you could just buy the whole kit and get rid of ALL the 20+yo rubber... smile.gif
