Has anyone did a swap D16A1 into thier civic and added a Turbocharger into the engine. I'm planning on doing this as a project for my car. What parts or materials do I require other than the Turbocharger, Intercooler and pipings.

Something to add and control fuel and timing would be a good idea...

also, consider which d16a1 you will use. The 86-87 will be easier to drop in with its vacuum advance and easy wiring conversion. The 88-89 will be harder to install, but would likely be easier to tune with a turbo b/c you can use many of the engine management systems made for the newer hondas, like hondata or whatever.
oh and congratulations on your SECOND post since july. LOL

Should be going with the apexi S-afc II for the fuel management.

I'm using the JDM 86-87 D16A1 engine in my car right now.
I found out that the exhaust manifold is very near the radiator. How do some of u guys go about fixing the turbocharger to the manifold????

LoFreq used a radiator that was almost half the width of stock, so it gave lots of room in front of the exhaust manifold: Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3
Thanks for showing the photos, mayhem019.
Now question wat radiator he is using and wat happen to the air-cond cooling coil??

That manifold is custom... you can tell by the mounds of weld at the collector. and the fact that you can't get anything like that for our cars. Maybe in Aussie land though. it looks good.
I'm planning on doing this with my car. I'll use an a t-3 from an eagle talon and an intercooler from a mazda 626. For control I will probably get a guy to mod my ecu to sense boost and then get the injectors from an eagle talon as well. It's a guy that works at hondata. they mod your ecu to be fully programable through your laptop. I might just try the cheap route first but I don't want to blow anything.
Cheap meaning, FMU with egt and air fuel gauge running low boost. 7psi max.

A rad from an auto civic 84-87 works or a rad from a 92-95 civic. There both half size
I'm using the autu radiator now, cause my previous engine was an auto. The radiator takes the full length of the front portion.. If use the 92-97 civic, will need to mode for the position then.
