With all the changes to the car, it really got me thinking about stepping up the safety game when it comes to track days and time attack participation. Going from 145hp and 105ftlbs at the wheels to 220hp and 200ftlbs at the wheels had me realizing on track speeds will be much higher and stepping up safety would probably be a good move. Debut event is Mid October so clock is ticking.
car has had a AutoPower rear cage, race seats, open face helmet, and 5 point harness since moving into open track events from Solo2. They allow you to wear long pants and a t-shirt at these events and that is what I have done for years.
New gear is a Bell K1 full face helmet, NecksGen Rev neck restraint device, SFI balaclava and socks, Impact G6 SFI5 Gloves, and Alpinestars SFI drivers suit (ordering this week).
Final item is going to be a LifeLines Zero 360 fire system. This system sends out a gas that is safe on components, driver, and requires no clean up. Hope to never experience any of this. With the fuel coming out and returning to the firewall right above the header I am more worried about fuel leaks than I was with the EW or B16. The system has 3 nozzles for the engine bay and 2 for the interior. More to come and a post on install to come.
Stay safe and enjoy these cars everyone!
