C'mon Rodney, if you can do the metal work to channel the cab down over the frame, you can weld two cabs together.

i have thought about this already but what would i use for rear doors? i guess if all i can get shipped to me is the rear doors then i'll have to go this route.
it will definitely get bodydropped, custom rear framed, "Z'd" airbagged and the bed floor wont get cut out. it will be cut out then raised to still have a stock floor instead of a hacked up hole in the middle like most frame draggers. im thinking aluminum 19.5 inch wheels if i can do it without having to remove brake booster and go with the "metro master cylindar". a 2JZ would be nice but the 3.0 V6 will have to do for now. my brother is trying to talk me into going with something like a single 16 or 18 inch wide tire on the rear but i think the true dually is cooler. what do you guys think?

we have toyota hilux's over here, its very rare to find a crew cab one (4door)
here it is RHD aswell and they dont have duellies on the back either... i can wring a few wreckers and see if i can get rear doors???
shipping would be a bitch from australia to america

I like the idea and wish they sold he older toy pickups in 4dr here it wouldnt be too bad to get a rhd cab since the swap back to lhd would be fairly simple and keeping your stock dash would be best to avoid VIN problems and such
He who dies with the most toys, wins.

i would prefer a complete cab shell with rear section interior but if all we can do is doors then thats fine. RHD or LHD dosnt really matter to me. im not exactly sure what shipping rates will be but i have an idea in my head of how much im willing to spend on this project so i guess we will see how things turn out. any help is greatly appreciated

VIN problems.... i dont worry about no stinking vin problems
this brings me to another question.... im curious if the VIN is on the dash or on the cab and just a cutout in the dash to make it visible? my ranger has the vin stamped into a plate on the dash then a cutout in the dash to make it visible

Depending on shipping, rear doors and two cabs might be your only option. Know anybody in the military? I think they get their vechicles shipped for free if that is where they are deployed. If you want to know what I've been thinking of doing with my Ranger, google 2wd Ranger prerunner. -Bill

There are restrictions and unfortunately "automotive parts" such as chasis, transmissions and engines (and things classified as building materials) are on the prohibited list of items that can be shipped at Uncle Sam's expense. You can ship a running U.S. spec vehicle for free. I think your best bet would be to have it crated as as parts. If it is a whole vehicle then it may get impounded at the port until you post a bond and then get it certified as meeting U.S. DOT/NHSTA specs.

4-door pickups are pretty plentiful in Caribbean countries. I don't think I saw *any* mini-pickups that were 2-door, when we were in Barbados, and all seemed to be turbo Diesels.
Importing/certification will probably make it difficult.
How about starting with a 4runner? Here's a photo I Googled, though it is a '96.

I would think converting a 4runner would be much easier.
