Theoretical observation. A standard T-bar should push through the front crossmember completely shouldn't it? My spare unit is out in the snow and I can't test this out. So I happen to have a loose T-bar handy and thought I would measure the thickness at the splines to see if they are uniform or tapered perhaps, which I doubt.

It's not tapered but I found something unusual. The splines on the inside of the circlip groove are .3 mm thicker than the part on the outside of the circlip groove. That was on the fat end. The smaller end is only about .2 mm different and that end has the arrow and a letter on it. I forget, is that the front or the rear of the bar?

I don't know if that is significant enough but could be a possibility it doesn't go all the way through. Take some measurements between old and new and see if they are the same or are machined differently.

Another possibility is the key spline could be binding a bit if it was machined a bit on the small size as compared to oem. My bar has a key spline on both ends.

Did it bind with or without the torque tube installed? Maybe it is the back end that is the issue somehow. Also check the length between oem and Upgrade version. If it is marginally shorter the rear circlip will prevent it from going far enough to the front. Just a few observations as I can't check on a real situation. JS

I don't know about the rest, but my rear circlip was not installed when I tried to push it forward to install the front circlip. I knew that wouldn't work.
