hey, all. just wondering if anyone here manually "primes" there carbed car every time they start it by pumping the gas pedal once or twice.
i used to have to pump it like 3 times in my 77 civic. but i think all that this does for us is re-align the choke.

I have to pump mine.... if I don't, it'll start, but it will only run for about 2 seconds and then die.

There are 3 goals when modding a car.
Cheap, Reliable, and Fast.
Now the down side. You only get to pick 2...
Fact: A recent study shows that 92% of all teenagers have turned Emo.
Put this in your sig if you're one of the 8% who stayed gangster as $h!t.

On my old '84 I seem to recall that I had to press the pedal to the floor once to set the auto choke. If you pumped it twice, it tended to flood in the winter. When it got older, it would sometimes start up and die as if the auto choke was releasing too early. I found I had to press the pedal once to reset the choke. The car would usually start even when it got down to -20F, unless I screwed up and pumped the pedal, which flooded it.

Note: Canadian cars had a manual choke. US model cars had an auto choke. The starting procedure is different for US vs CAN models!
